DPP-4
Definition
[educational]Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 — the enzyme that rapidly degrades GLP-1 (native half-life ~2 min) and other peptides.
Why it matters
[educational]GLP-1 drugs are engineered for DPP-4 resistance (the basis of Semaglutide’s long half-life); DPP-4 inhibitors are sometimes misused to extend injectable GH-peptide half-life (thin evidence — see Vigorous Steve transcript).
